| We hope these little
tips help you navigate the
increasingly complicated
world of rechargeable
batteries. Now that NiCd or
NiCad (Nickel Cadmium) has
been
replaced with NiMH (Nickel
Metal Hydride) you have
3 basic choices, all of which
are NiMH. The first thing you
need to decide is what do you
need your rechargeable
batteries for? Standard
Rechargeable Batteries
with
low to medium capacity are
great for everyday items
including cordless phones,
they offer great value for
money.
High Capacity
Rechargeable
Batteries
for those power
crazy high drain items like
digital cameras & MP3
players. Finally the latest type
of Pre-Charged
Rechargeable
Batteries
that
come ready charged and
have a lower self discharge
rate than the other two
options. Which means these
new ready to use
rechargeables stay
charged for up to 12 months
without use, however their
capacity is lower than the high
capacity range but usually
higher than the standard
range. The capacity,
or amount of power in
your battery is given a mAh
rating, the higher this rating
the longer the batteries last
between recharges. If you
would rather shop by battery
size then go direct to the size
you of rechargeable batteries
you need. AA, AAA,
C, D,
9V, CR123
