As the weather takes on a decided chill and the nights start getting darker a little earlier, it’s time to check your stocks and make sure that you are prepared for whatever the new season might bring your way. Torch           

The item that should be at the top of everyone’s list as we prepare for the colder, darker months is a torch. With the ever changeable weather there is always the possibility of a power cut, and this can mean losing the light. Whilst experts often recommend having a stash of candles for such an event, a torch, or several is much better. It is certainly a safer option, particularly if there are children or animals in the home.

Make sure that you know where you have stashed your torch so you can find it in an emergency. Plus, always make sure that you have a good stash of spare batteries to hand in case you need them. For the reasons mentioned above you may also want to consider investing in a portable phone charger. This will allow you to keep your phone charged even when there is no power to your property. A fully charged mobile phone may be handy for contacting people in the event of an emergency and could also be a really good way of keeping kids entertained if they are scared when there is no power.

Battery storage

Consider investing in a sturdy battery storage box this autumn so that you can keep all of the spare batteries that you might need in case of an emergency in one place.
